I think my best artwork was the one I made out of popsicle sticks. I forgot what it was called but I definitely did the best on that one. It was where you had to build a house going off of a picture that we liked. I made a really cool house out of popsicle sticks that looked sort of like a picture. An artwork that I would like to redo would be my unrepresentable one. I would redo it and make it bigger and more cool. I wish I would have made it bigger along with more colorful. Something i've learned in art class is that if you work hard, you can get it done. If you want to get something done then just work hard and you will get it done a lot faster. I wish we could have done clay or something like that. Clay would be fun because you can shape it into whatever you want. Ive done it one time in art 2D but not for long at all.

My artwork is obviously going to be about me but in a different way than drawing. I am going to make a frame and then put things in that frame that I like. I'm going to put a picture of my family and I might carve a dog out of wood. I will put a cut out piece of a pepsi can because pepsi is my favorite pop. I will add more things but those are just some things that I like. I first cut out a piece of plywood to use as my base and painted it blue, then I cut of sides for the frame and painted them black. I still have to finish putting it together but then I can start working on getting my pieces. Here is what it looks like right now.
The artist that I looked into is Dyani White Hawk. I looked into her art because it is really simple but looks really cool. She was born in Madison Wisconsin. She does modern abstract painting and abstract Lakota forms. I really like that her artworks are simple but still look really cool.
Here is my artwork start to finish. It is the same shape but different colors. I kind of wanted to go off of the artwork Flamingo. You can't tell what it is but it looks cool. It is a bunch of sticks hot glues together and each stick is painted differently. The colors are blue, orange, green, and oink. I started by grabbing sticks and then braking them into around the same sizes. I then started hot glueing them together and came out with that. I then decided that I wanted to paint them different colors. The reason I made this is because I love the outdoors so I made it out of sticks. My goal for this was to just go with the flow. Because it was a non-representational artwork, I just did things as I went and that's how it turned out. My overall thoughts on this artwork is the paint didn't go on as nice as I thought it would but I still like the design.
There are 7 principles of art, pattern, emphasis, proportion, movement, balance, unity, variety. here's a picture of all of the elements. An artwork called "Flamingo" really stands out but it doesn't look anything like a flamingo. Its a sculpture made by steel stabile, painted red. It is 53 feet tall and weighs 50 tons!
https://artsandculture.google.com/asset/sol-sun-edgar-negret/rAFsI6LINmoMnA I finally finished my artwork. Its a house made out of popsicle sticks. There's a balcony at the top of the house leading to the roof. I made it because I was inspired by a modern house artwork. First I cut out the walls of cardboard. Then i cut the popsicle sticks so that they don't have round ends. I then put the walls together with hot glue to make the base. Once I finished Putting the walls together I hot glued the popsicle sticks on. I then added on the balcony and it looked awesome. I added a ladder going to the roof so that I could have rails on the roof. I put that ladder on then I went to go get little twigs for the rails on the top. I think it turned out awesome i'm not gonna lie. I'm not trying to brag or anything but I like it alot. I'm not lying when I say this...... I've never been this dedicated to an art project before. Here's a picture of it.
James Rizzi is a really cool artist. He makes really colorful and pretty artworks. One that i've seen was really colorful buildings that had faces. Kind of creepy right? It looks really cool but the buildings are just looking at you. In my opinion he is a really good artist.
This is one picture that I am going to go off of. I'm planning on making it out of hot glue, rocks, popsicle sticks, cardboard, crayon, and real sticks. Ive been sketching it out how it might look.
I really like the house that's in the woods. It makes it feel like its a cabin and I love cabins and woods. The sky id really pretty too.
Today is the last media fair. I know that's really sad. Were moving on to architecture. That kind of seems fun I guess. Today for my observational drawing I drew this bubblr can.
Here another thing that I made in media fair. Its a double sided stuffed animal that has one eye. |
